IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting - AP-S/URSI 2017, San Diego (United States of America). 09-14 July 2017
Summary:
A low-cost wireless reader for a passive temperature sensor based on Magneto-Inductive Wave (MIW) delay lines is proposed in this paper. The sensor used is a time domain sensor working at 2.55 GHz. 10-ns width pulses are needed to avoid the overlapping between the incident and reflected signals. For this task, a signal generator system is designed to obtain pulses modulated at the sensor frequency. A small signal detector is also proposed to obtain the envelope of the reflected signals. Simulation results show a good behavior of the whole system.
Keywords: Magneto-Inductive Wave (MIW), temperature sensor, reader, pulse generator, mixer, detector.
